Question:
Hmmmmm…why do the words "extirpate" or "castrate" spring more readily to mind than "extricate"!!!! [*Ducks predictable brickbats tossed by Priscilla!*]
All out of brickbats. *fling* Here’s a half-sour pickle. You may not have my corned beef sandwich. Priscilla
Response:
I understand that she’s going to arrive in the Diocese of San Joaquin pretty soon. The general impression is that she’s coming to extricate traditionalist priests (SJ is something of a stronghold of traditionalism on the West Coast). It would be a shame–after all, TEC is their church, too…
The pity is that she can be a very good preacher. I heard her in person once at the National Cathedral, and she preached a very conventional but very strong sermon. She should do the church a lot more good by cutting back on the abrasiveness. C. Wingate

The speaker, at the recent Vermont Diocesan Convention, is Bishop Barbara Harris. (And a Scriptural debate between the two of you would surely be a thing to hear!) Right–the person who said that we don’t need a white man bleeding on a cross. May I ask what you’re talking about? As far as I know, we don’t worship a white man who bled on a cross. (Christ was more than likely an arab…)
I’m referring to a famous remark by Bishop Harris, a few years back. You’re probably too young to remember. Charles Hohenstein "If there were any word of God beside the Scripture, we could never be certain of God’s Word; and if we be uncertain of God’s Word, the devil might bring in among us a new word, a new doctrine, a new faith, a new church, a new god, yea himself to be a god. If the Church and the Christian faith did not stay itself upon the Word of God certain, as upon a sure and strong foundation, no man could know whether he had a right faith, and whether he were in the true Church of Christ, or in the synagogue of Satan."– Archbishop Thomas Cranmer

Timothy 2:11-15 11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 34 women should be silent in the churches. Recent…? That’s what turns you on, isn’t it…? Anything to get away from the conviction of the Word, anyway you can. In 2nd Timothy 2:3, Paul pegs you right between the eyes. READ IT!!! "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths" Look at what you are doing…! How long can you go on IGNORING scripture that you don’t agree with ?

Explain what? I’ve already told you what she said. I was wondering if you could tell me what context she said it in…. that’s kind of important. Obviously it irritated you and others or you wouldn’t have quoted it the way you did, and I really don’t think you’re actually dumb enough to thnk Jesus is a white man when he was born in the middle east to a Jewish woman who’s husband’s ancestory can be traced back to King David, so could please explain why it irritated you? You know, I quite agree with you. I think sending an ultra-ultra-liberal bishop to an ultra-ultra-conservative diocese is absolutely the most back-asswards approach to this inflamed crisis that could be imagined. Did you mean that she’s about to TAKE OVER leadership of the diocese? Who, precisely, within the diocese, vetted her and then named her to go there and take it over, if in fact that’s what’s happening? Are they fully aware of the nature of the package they’re purchasing?

Archbishop Desmond Tutu — one of my very favorite, and surely one of the best-loved Anglican archbishops on the planet — has ordained his own 40-year-old daughter, who will serve as a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia! (And, yes, she’s amply qualified for the position: she holds a Master’s in Divinity from EDS in Cambridge.) More evidence of the rise of the satanic church. All this must come to pass… Like having your ears tickled by your preachers, now don’t you Dana…?

Man, what kind of Bible do you use, anyway..?! I’m shocked. I can hardly believe that people could get this far off track. It’s right there in black and white! I mean, if you twist one thing to fit your feeeeelings, then everything else (like sodomy) is fair game as well. It’s all right there, bub.
