Question:
also, i have not yet been able to find a name that suits me. 13 hydra I had read that you use numerology to get your personal number and use that number as guidance when choosing a magickal name (i.e, your magickal name must match the personal number) think of a name you like and add/delete vowels/consonants to obtain the same resulting number.
You can find an easy way to do this by searching for numerology sites that have an interactive forum to find it our real quick or visit the site below to learn how to do it yourself. Good luck! EnchanteD EncounterS http://pages.prodigy.net/processor/index.html

[snip] and preferably one where I can at least see nature. If your room won’t serve, consider finding a private place outside.
Another alternative, if you can’t do it outside, is to bring nature inside. Potted plants go a long ways in this. A table top fountain will add the sound of running water. Paint your walls something besides white. Do you have pets? Let them join you in the circle. For a long, long time, I was uncomfortable being outside. I felt vulnerable to prying eyes, so I did what I could to bring natural and wild things to me. — Jennifer in California | Do I contradict myself? http://www.aimnet.com/~oaktree/ | Walt Whitman (1819-1892), "Song of Myself" **I may have antispammed my posts, so effortless replys are not possible.**

first, how much room will i need to perform basic rituals? if my room is too small does anyone have any advice for me to help me find a place for my magickal workings? also, i have not yet been able to find a name that suits me. i want to pick something in another language, just because it is confortable to me. does anyone any web sites that can help me in my search?
The true power of a ritual comes from within. Everything else is just tools to help you focus. You can do equal magic with all the tools money can buy as you can naked, in a closet. If you need to do some ritual (and most of us do at varying times), look at what you want to do, and figure out how much space it will need. Personally, I’m most comfortable with a space that takes more than one stride to cross, and preferably one where I can at least see nature. If your room won’t serve, consider finding a private place outside. Good luck in your search. Bob — Bob One good thing about being wrong is the joy it brings to others

I have studied about the occult before but have very little hands on experience. I was raised roman catholic, but have discovered within the past 4 or 5 years that the faith that i have been given does not sit right with me. My parents already know of my interest in wicca and the occult. they let me on my own to make my own decisions but i’m afraid of offending them through my rituals, etc. i have begun to clear out an are of my bedroom for the construction of a small altar and ritual area. here are a few of my questions. first, how much room will i need to perform basic rituals? if my room is too small does anyone have any advice for me to help me find a place for my magickal workings? also, i have not yet been able to find a name that suits me. i want to pick something in another language, just because it is confortable to me. does anyone any web sites that can help me in my search? thank you all for your dedication of time in reading this. i hope i am not inconveniencing anybody. thank you all in advance. 13 hydra
Hydra, You are very fortunate that your parents give you the freedom to explore your own path. I too was raised Catholic and I was a teenager when I discovered Wicca and embraced it as my path. My mother freaked out. She used to steal my books and ritual tools and throw them away. I was forced to study and practice in the strictest of secrecy. Since your parents are somewhat flexible, I think that you could be cautious with them. You don’t need elaborate tools or complicated rituals. As long as your heart and ming are in the right place, any amount of space will do. If you are allowed to have a permanent altar set up in your room, you may choose to make unobtrusive out of respect for your parent’s tolerance. Remember, being Wicca is about how you live, and what you hold in your heart. All the rituals, tools, candles and incense are trappings, decoration and fun. The real power is in you and your connection to God/dess. Traditionally, a 9 foot diameter circle is preferred. The altar may be of any size with, preferably, at least the 4 elemental tools on it (Athame, Wand, Cup and Pentacle). If you want to practice with more room and freedom, outdoor rituals are wonderful. But in your bedroom, casting a cmall circle around you should suffice. You don’t need to necessarily rearrange the room, it is the visualisation of the circle that is important. Feel free to ask any further questions. Blessed be, Sidonian
