Funny, I have never ben taught to pray TO a rosary or worship Mary. Yet, I am Catholic…I must have been absent the day they taught us that in church. First, we don’t pray to the rosary, it is simply an aid to prayer – something that reminds us to fucus on God kinda like those "WWJD" things only more traditional. Mary is not an object of worship! She is part of our family – our mother – and should be loved greatly. When a Catholic says "pray" they don’t mean the same thing as when a Protestant says it. At the time of the apostles, Mary was still on earth; therefore it was not possible or necessary to pray to her. If you wanted to ask something of her, you just walked up to her and asked her. Remember, Christ performed his first miracle when Mary interceded on behalf of the host of the wedding feast in Cana. (John 2:1-11) Thus, Mary served as a mediator between her Divine Son and the common man.

I’ll tell you one thing…the Rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary is about the life of Christ with prayers and meditation. Mary is Jesus’ Mother and therefore our Mother also, otherwise why do you call Jesus your Brother if Mary is not your Mother? Never belittle Mary, if honor is bestowed upon the Mother of God, Mary, it is indirectly honoring Jesus who honors His Mother as He commands us to honor our mothers and fathers. Show disrespect for Mary and you show disrespect for her Son Jesus. Mary will ‘always’ lead you to her Son Jesus without fail. If you had the love of Jesus as does Mary, you would be a Saint.
