Question:
Maybe one will come that will denounce Catholicism, state it is deceptive and teach God’s Holy Word like it is written!
Maybe pigs will fly and hell will freeze over. BAM
Response:
SANGER SCRIBBLED:on This pope has been out of touch since day one with the ongoing devotion to Mary, to the exclusion of the ongoing problems of the church as a whole. It will be an interesting note if after his demise the truth of his early life will be published widely.
I kind of like Mary, mother of God. Sometimes I think the Protestants got rid of the image of Mary, only to replace it with the image of a shrill whore. What is the truth about your early life, Sanger??
Response:
Well, I made a comment, but it wasn’t really in the spirit of the thread.
Ah. I must have missed yours. My apologies. I should have written that none of the known Episcopalians have been being rude to the RC’s in that thread. Byrd
Response:
pope john paul is old feeble and unfit to lead the church during this time of crisis…. we can only hope and pray that his death occurs soon…then maybe we will get a progressive minded pope who is serious about reforming the church Scout Lady could be pope. She would bring back whippings and the auto de fe. I miss those exciting acts of faith….
On the death of the Pope, I will be submitting my CV.

cardinal law is just anpother right wing wacko who will keep the church burried in the middle ages – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – "dwjones" wrote … pope john paul is old feeble and unfit to lead the church during this time of crisis…. we can only hope and pray that his death occurs soon…then maybe we will get a progressive minded pope who is serious about reforming the church + I’m hoping for Cardinal Law!
Response:
Baptism is NOT for Salvation. Baptism saves no one. God calls those whom He has chosen for salvation by grace alone. Secondly, why would I want to make confessions to some old man behind a curtain when I have direct communication with God one on one? Why would someone want to kiss a ring or pray to a statue of Mary?(whom by the way is a dead woman). Jeannette
Thank God you have no church. The Bible belongs to the Catholic Church – leave it alone. BAM

And what do you mean by "like it is written"? Scott This fact is based on the authority of God, the author of His Word.
Would you care to prove your fact? Or is it an article of your Faith? And are you His spokesperson? Would your "His Word" version be the English, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Ancient Hebrew, or…..the King James versions? Did God dictate to the writer(s) word for word what he wanted them to write (he could’ve written it all by himself without scribes, in this case)? Or did he inspire the writers to a spiritual meaning He wanted conveyed? On what authority do *you* have to answer to any of these questions? Scott
Response:
Actually, if you read the 4 Gospels of Jesus, the words right out of his lips themselves, you’ll find that the RCC **is** the church that Jesus started in that we fully offer the (7) sacramental church he instituted – Baptism for salvation, Holy Eucharist, Matrimony, Confession, Holy Orders, Confirmation, and Extreme Unction, – and which is led by men on earth, the Papacy guided by the Holy Spirit. Baptism is NOT for Salvation. Baptism saves no one. God calls those whom He has chosen for salvation by grace alone. Secondly, why would I want to make confessions to some old man behind a curtain when I have direct communication with God one on one?
Oh! Forget one of those question I asked in the other post. So you do think you are a spokesperson for God since you have direct communication with God. Ok then, so prove it. Prove your authority. For a Christian I thought Salvation is through Jesus and his living Body of Christ. What is meant by "The Body of Christ"? Why would someone want to kiss a ring or pray to a statue of Mary?(whom by the way is a dead woman). Jeannette — "Do not deceive yourselves. In alt.religion.christian.roman-catholic (and doubtless elsewhere), on brought the total lines of text written about "Re: Pope Near Death" to 17. I decided to observe the following about them: : "dwjones" wrote … : pope john paul is old feeble and unfit to lead the church during this : time : of crisis…. we can only hope and pray that his death occurs soon…then : maybe we will get a progressive minded pope who is serious about : reforming : the church : + I’m hoping for Cardinal Law! We will find shortly that a feeble pope has just conveniently passed on to his great reward. This will no doubt occur shortly after Easter. If you review history whenever there has been a major disruption in the Catholic church the pope exits and a new…more amenable …pope come along. This pope has been out of touch since day one with the ongoing devotion to Mary, to the exclusion of the ongoing problems of the church as a whole. It will be an interesting note if after his demise the truth of his early life will be published widely.
