Question:
Is that how you always address some one that disagrees with you? By calling them a liar?
No. I just called YOU a liar. Do you understand! Can you get that through your thick anti-Catholic skull? Why don’t they call YOU a troll?
I could REALLY care less what people call me. The Scriptures you quote below says that Mary was highly favored.
You are obviously ignorant as to what the term "favoured" means in this case. And it is pronounced by an angel, ergo, it is the word of God. It does NOT say she was exalted above anyone else.
Oh yes it does…Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: BLESSED art thou among women. I remind all others sincerely interested in this point, that this phrase does not just mean that Mary was God’s favorite human being but that she was filled with HIS grace and lived accordingly. (Part of the case for the Immaculate Conception … ah wait better not start that here …) What did Christ say about His mother? Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
This is not a rebuke of Mary in any way. Rather it associates to Jesus’ family all those who hear and keep His word. Luke recognizes this as already occuring with Mary – by ascenting to bear Christ.Luke 1:38 Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her. Once again, you have presented information so as to hide the truth. This makes you a liar. Matthew 12:47 And one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, seeking to speak to thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand towards his disciples, and said, Behold, my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Same as before. Now you can tell Christ He is a liar!
No, YOU are the liar.Christ nowhere states that Mary is superior to, equal to, or lesset than others. But think of it, ONLY Mary was chosen to bear Christ. Do you have any real clue as to what that REALLY means? Mary’s place in the plan of salvation is second only to Christ’s. Granted, it is a distant second, but whoever is third lags by some considerable distance themselve. It is so clear that whenever CB writes he forces a contradiction between Biblical verses. He is once again causing dissention. Shame. Bob

Either way, you do the work of the devil. Has your hatred for the Catholic Church so blinded you to reason? Do you pride yourself in being able to muddle the issue of Mary’s position within the doctrine of the Catholic Church? You must imagine yourself some great prophet "exposing" the "faults" of Catholic doctrine. Do you sit in front of your computer laughing at the responses you receive and treating them with undeserved flippancy? Do you revel in the discord you sow among real Christians? I have read many of your responses and this is what I see. It is plain. You are guilty – read for yourself: Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. If you do so willingly, you have obviously rejected God. If you do so unknowlingly, you ignorance, lies, hatred, imaginations, mischievious, and dissuasions have only served the devil. Repent. Bob

Does reading Romans 8:29 count as Bible study?
Jesus is our brother. Mary is His mother. Therefore, Mary is our mother. Of course, not after the same fashion as she is His mother, and certainly not as God is our Father, but after some fashion she is our mother, certainly– else, Jesus is not the eldest of many brothers and the Scripture is broken. (Mary is our sister, too, after a fashion, so let’s quit with that red herring.) Repudiation of Mary always eventually leads to repudiation of Jesus. I welcome e-mail replies.

Certainly it does & so does Matthew 12:48-5048 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand towards his disciples, and said, Behold, my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother. So if Jesus’ mother is the same as my brethren , then she would be my sister, not mother. No where did Christ exalt Mary above anyone else. Jesus is our brother. Mary is His mother. Therefore, Mary is our mother. Is he catholic? That’s what I thought. And it’s not a new teaching. The Jewish word for bride is derived from the same root as the Jewish word for holy, to "set apart." I’ll tell you what is even more hilarious:one of your church fathers(not the apostles or early christians) peeping into Joseph’s bedroom window to make sure that he didn’t have sex with Mary. The Church has never claimed it had. However one of the Apostles (John to be exact) did care for Mary for the many years she lived after the resurrection and ascension of her Son. (Oral tradition says that Mary lived for 72 years on the earth.) I think John would have heard from his "mother" the truth, especially from the Theotokos.

Funny, the Catholic Church does not believe the Bible is the "literal" word of God. In Matthew, it does state that after Jesus was born, that Joseph "knew" Mary (an obvious reference to sex).
No it does not. The phrasing is absolutely different and intended to show that Mary did not have sexual intercourse to produce the child – a virgin birth. While I believe that Mary was a virgin at the time of Jesus’ birth, she did not remain so, because the Bible says so.
Where? Please give us book, chapter and verse. Secondly, while I am sympathetic to our brethern of other denominations and their viewpoints, I do take issue with their lack of respect of the Roman Catholic Church.
Why? This is not what our Lord wants. We should be more concerned about loving one another, spreading the Gospel and helping those in need (like Billy Graham, Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul).

Respectfully Jumbles, it is not the Bible which says so but your man-made interpretation of it which says so. The passage you refer to is Matthew 1:25, "He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus." The Greek word translated ‘until’ does not imply normal marital conduct after Jesus’ birth, nor does it exclude it. Take as an example this statement, "Jumbles believed fervently in the Bible until his death". Does this imply that you didn’t believe in the Bible after your death?
