Question:
I was formerly a evangelical Protestant attending the Baptist Church. [snip touching testimony] Vivat Jesus! (Jesus Lives for you folks rusty on your Latin!) Mike Tennyson
Back at you! Welcome to the Catholic Family. — Homer is new and fresh this morning, and nothing, perhaps, is as old and tired as today’s newspaper. Charles Peguy

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I was formerly a evangelical Protestant attending the Baptist Church. After researching the Catholic position on so many things I finally had to conclude the RCC is Christ’s Church on earth. The major problem I have with Protestantism is one of Authority. They say the Bible is the but whose interpretation? Apparently each Protestant claims for themselves an infallibility which the RCC claims for the Pope only on matters of Faith and Morals when he is in agreement with all the Bishops of the World. Many Protestants are so ignorant of the history of their own churches they deny that their churches broke off from the Roman Catholic Church. Any institution that has withstood 2000 years of attacks, has been led at times by corrupt leaders, yet it still exists is proof enough for me. Any man-made institution would have crumbled long ago. The Catholic Church will last FOREVER because Jesus said so. You folks that attack the Church based on the lies you have been told by others are being deceived. The is one Roman Catholic Church and some 20,000 plus Protestant Churches. Where is the unity there? Protestant churches teach doctrines that are 180 degrees apart and are mutually exclusive. One (or both) must be wrong. One thing though they all can agree on is to be anti-Catholic. Because if the Catholic Church is right, they are all WRONG. I pray that our separated brothers and sisters in Christ will set aside their hatred or fear long enough to learn what the Church really teaches. You will find that your existing faith as a Christian will only deepen. My did. Vivat Jesus! (Jesus Lives for you folks rusty on your Latin!) Mike Tennyson
