Question:
One of the things I have been made aware of lately is bandwidth ( I work for the company that provides my server…ah the travails of being laity). And I am wondering, are my err ‘dialogues’ of any use to anyone. Obviously Mark is not about to be swerved back into the Church, or to learn history. But is anyone getting any benefit from it? bardi

Keep posting! Remember that there are a lot of lurkers who may be trying to learn about the Faith or are people just returning to the Faith. These people may be led away from the Faith to the Protestant Reformed version espoused by MJ, and they need to hear the true teachings of the Church. We all benefit from posts such as yours. Besides getting practice in my apologetics? <G I do admit to a certain amount of entertainment in how predictable he is-almost like pulling strings on a puppet at times-for that, I should be ashamed (and I am at times). But think about those who lurk here that read what is going on…and see who has the more lucid, logical, approach…and whose approach is more emotional and juvenile (especially when pressed)….*those* are the ones who are likely benefitting. Don’t project, ‘bardi’. Remember, I’ve been the one relating the histories to you, when you seemed somewhat ignorant on the matter. Peace. One mark of a deteriorating society is when its people cannot discern truth from lies. Another is when they don’t even bother to try and will believe whatever their itching ears want to hear. Don’t project. Remember, _I’m_ the Reformed Catholic, here. I’m the one telling you to follow The Church, instead, that of the Saints, the councils, the Popes, the great Doctors, father, Apostles, of God, Himself. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t have your ‘reform’ and Catholicism, too. And I think you know that. And I think that’s why you prefer ‘reform’. Peace. God and the Blessed Virgin and the Saints help a poor ignorant soul trying to do his duty. [Dracula, Bram Stoker, 1897, Ch. 7, Demeter Captain's log, last entry]

You wrote that did you? Lucid . . logical . . . approach. and whose approach is more emotional and juvenile
And you think that not only is ‘lucid logic’ some sort of goal, but that others will be seen as hysterical and juvenile, by comparison, and so on. You KNOW . . I’ve said that about you, correct? Anyhow – ’sum’. Please don’t project. And if you don’t like my referring to you in such fashion, I think you could simply consider changing your approach, and discussing things with people instead of behaving like a brat. Translation. The Church as Mark sees History, and without including the Vatican II Council or any of the Popes since .what Mark? IS John XXIII included or should we go back further. The facts are that the History of the Church is much more..well…catholic, than Mark would have us believe. dnp bardi

No, you want people to follow your very Protestant creative snipping of what the Popes, the great Doctors, fathers, and Apostles wrote. To a person they *obeyed*. You do not. They realized they were sheep, you do not. If you want to be Catholic, you need to learn to obey and submit. Sheep, meaning – blind obedience, obedience to evil, or . . else. See, Tony. You don’t get it. Catholics say about the ‘or else’ – bring it on. You don’t get that. That Saints said – bring it on. The devil is nothing. There’s no virtue in obedience to evil, to heresy, in following illegal orders. So, I mean. You don’t want to believe that. You don’t get that. To you, the lie is sacred. Well, others judged long ago. I have hardly seen anybody who takes MJ seriously anyway, but it’s good to see that now he has really shown us what he’s up to. I can confirm that MJ is really a running joke on both sides of the Atlantic. At least he has achieved something…. Daniel — "Don’t project. Remember, _I’m_ the Reformed Catholic, here." Honestly? Only if you are trying to feel good about yourself. You have a consistent effort at presenting allegations as though they were truth. And when people ask you (and I refer not only to myself)simple yes or no questions you suddenly go off on a spin worthy of a South Side Chicago Politician. dnp bardi

Don’t project. Maybe you would like to get your Freudian slips under control. But you really made my day – excellent, Mark! I knew you would be useful for something…. Just an innocent question in passing (you don’t have to answer, of course): How many people do you think take you seriously in here? Why not just try honesty, for a change?
