Question:
Christianity – One God. Hinduism – Multiple gods. Incorrect. Balloona.
bologna, even. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hinduism has a single "God" (Brahma), that is manifested in a variety of forms (remind you of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit much? It should). Jesus is the ARM OF GOD, the Holy Spirit is from God himself. Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God’s own efforts to GIVE US HIS WORD and UNDERSTAND IT. * Jesus – the word of God. * Holy Spirit – understanding God’s word. As far as your "big guess" about Hinduism having only one god… "Most Hindus worship Shiva, Vishnu, or the Goddess (Devi), but the ALSO worship H U N D R E D S of additional minor deities peculiar to a particular village or even to a particular family" "…the dynasties of the solar and lunar gods, the geneology of the gods and holy sages.." – Encarta Encyclopedia One god in Hinduism eh? ha ha ha…
You’re looking at the surface. That’s the same as me saying that Christians worshipped multipled gods (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Mary in many countries, etc). They are all part of Brahma, just as we all are in Hindu thought. That’s why their "gods" are portrayed as having hundreds of arms — it’s one force acting in many, many different ways, simultaniously. Unfortunately, this thread will do nothing but convince you that you are right, since your mind has been trapped in scripture. The Bible is nice, but it’s only a start. There is a Buddhist saying that is very, very fitting here. Religion is a finger pointing at the moon. Don’t be mistaking the finger for the moon. The Bible is a start (one of many), but God/Brahma/Whatever isn’t conceptual — do you really think you can break God down into words? Ya, God just rips people up and down in the bible over "sun god worship", and there’s the Hindus ignoring his wishes.
Y’know, to make a valid argument here, you really should know what you’re talking about first. Doesn’t look like Hinduism is anything like Christianity.
You’re *not* very convincing. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hindu tradition, however, has an integral difference from Christian tradition, however, due to differences in the philosophies of the areas which they grew out of. Christianity, in it’s Western and Near Eastern influences, looks as God as the biggest Alpha Male of them all — he makes it all tick. We see God as something above and beyond the universe, somehow controlling it. Many people have trouble seeing it any other way. The Eastern traditions driving Hinduism and Buddhism, however, see God as the process that the universe is doing. That is, the universe is God-ing, and God is universing, so to speak. And we are a part of that process. That’s why, in the JudeoChristian world, if you say "I am God!" you are labeled a nut. But God is everywhere — we’re all little expressions of God. Nah, God is God, no one else. We are simply his creation, and he loved us enough to have his son die for our sins (if we accept it). God made it all, Jesus died for our sins.
You’re stuck in dogma. This argument isn’t. Tathata, Matt

Just because Hitler misused this symbol does not make the symbol evil. Nor does it make those who use the symbol evil, nor the anti-Christ. Consider a scalpel. Is it good or evil? It is neither. If this instrument is in the hands of a doctor expert in his field, it can be an instrument used to save a life. However, if you give this same instrument to a killer, someone may be in grave danger. It is not the scalpel that is good or bad, it is how a person uses the scalpel.
Does the fact that the swastika is a sun-symbol used by pagan religions help to identify the theology of those that adopt it as their symbol?

Interesting point, but take it a stage further… If you compare Hinduism and Roman Catholicism you will find that the likenesses are remarkable. For example, both pray before statues using strings of beads. Both pay "penances" and have processions of their idols. Also both call their high priests by the title "supreme pontiff." There are more likenesses if you care to search. Neat. I’ve been attempting to point out to several people that Christianity is really no different from any other religion, once you look at it from the right angle. Hinduism and the other Eastern strains, in particular. Glad somebody saw it that way, too, without me having to shove it at them.. <g
That’s THE WHOLE POINT!!! And that’s what "anti-christ" says. The RCC has blatantly DESTROYED what Jesus and God said in the bible. God himself said NOT to pray to statues. Jesus said not to say REPETATIVE PRAYERS (rosaries). The RCC changed these and changed the DAY OF REST/WORSHIP. Many others as well. Sure if you want Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, ect… Just wander into the RCC church. But the bible DOES NOT match other religions. Find a passage in the bible where God says to pray to a statue. Same for rosaries, calling men FATHER, paying for sins, calling men "God on earth", etc… God made it all, Jesus died for our sins.

What, lying??? Ya, let's consider lying for a moment. Let's look at THREE <<< different ways that JME claimed he "opened the sixth seal in Revelation in the bible". (If he's proven to be a liar, he also can't be Jesus, which he claims he is. This makes JME a false messiah that Jesus warned all about. So onward and to the proof...) During the 3rd week in Feb '98: The Sixth Seal came from India, and now we have the Seventh Seal (The Circle is complete). Hmm... but JME previously said an A-bomb over Japan was the sixth seal. Here let's go down memory lane... During the first week of July '97: The founder of the Sixth Seal, the twin prophet, came in the beginning of the nineteen century. The atomic bomb did shock the earth, darken the sun, etc. But notice: An earthquake is replaced by TWO <<< A-bombs on different days??? So JME quickly LIES AGAIN <<<... During the second week of July '97: He has Opened Six Seals of The Great Sign, except One. The One He did not open is the Sixth Seal. The Sixth Seal was opened by another person in 1945, in India. Oh gosh, now the 6th seal is: * JME was part of some incident in India in 1945. * Oh wait... it was one A-bomb over Japan (yet there were two A-bombs over Japan on different days). * Or... it's an incident in India by JME's twin bother. ha ha ha... Not to mention that JME is supposed to open the seals himself as Jesus, hence no twin brother is possible. Dolores http://www.marrieta.LIAR.org
