Hi Again — Got Something to Consider!

Question:

If your so good, why don’t you share the knowledge with us. Don’t say anything unless you can back it up and I’m asking you to do that. –Mamid

You have done nothing to earn the favor of the House of BlackBane. Only contempt. Bow before Raven and possibly I will teach you something of real value.

You know how the girls could change their hair, eye colour and appearance in the movie…  Can witches really do that?

Think of the con wo/man who project ‘you can trust me’ while talking fast and playing on the greed and credibility of their victim. That’s a glamour. Think of the young man or woman getting ready for a date and does things the other person will not see just because it will make them feel better about themselves so they can project confidence they many not feel. That’s a glamour. If you mean change their true physical being, no. Can they change their appearance?

If you mean can someone with a strong projective empathy project an image to others of a different physical appearance, yes. But not every projective empath can do this (it takes a fair admixture of telepathy), and only someone who can perceive such projections will be affected. There is also the simple fact that trying to project a glamour will attract attention to you, along the lines of "what’s s/he up to?" from a lot of people who won’t be taken in by the projection. Think of the shoplifter who attracts the attention of the store security because they overdid the ‘casual’ bit, and you get the picture. Can witches really shapeshift – into Ravens or wolves?

Physically, no. However, if they have studied the critter well enough and believe strongly enough that they can take on the persona and/or shape of the critter, and they can project that belief strongly enough at those who are sensitive to such projections, then those it is projected upon or have been conditioned to believe it will be so, will indeed see the critter in question.

Why would any shaman who could do this, want $500,000? Chances are, they have everything they need already. — Caution: Raven BlackBane is the only real witch on this newsgroup. REN     ren     Ren     rEn     REn     rEN     reN     ReN

Why would a shaman want money ? If he could turn himself into an animal.  I think he would be more interested in running around in the woods. DISCLAIMER: My opinions do not necesarily reflect those of LaToya Jackson or any occupants of the Kennedy Compound.

My question is, if a shaman wanted money in the first place, and had the ability to transform themself, why not just turn into money? Tina, I have never know a witch who can change her hair color, but I am a solitary practitioner and know few other withces. I did feel that I had perfected a sort of invisibility spell at one time. I was alone in San Francisco looking out over Russian Hill. An obvioiusly crazy person was about, he walked up next to me while I tried to be invisible. I had a bag on my shoulder, he asked "What is in you bag." Strangely, a person down the way a little, also carrying a bag, answered the man. The two of them talked for awhile while I stood between them. I felt sort of elated. I have had others tell me that they can not see me even in the smallest of crowds. Many Wiccans have trashed The Craft movie. It is melodramatic and silly in some ways, but I think it contains some truths. Mostly, I think it captured the feeling that we get from the practice of our way of life. Our power comes from within, we use it to change the world around us for the better and are strengthened by doing so. Feel free to e-mail if you would like. Bright Blessings to you. Troy change-change-change. It is the only constant.

In group alt.pagan, article You know how the girls could change their hair, eye colour and appearance in the movie…  Can witches really do that?  Can they change their appearance?

Not like in the movie, no. That movie is a hollywood product, not to be taken too seriously. It’s not meant to reflect true life but to entertain you. I did find it entertaining myself… and did find some accurate notions scattered here and there in the movie. For instance, Manon is an hawaien god which is believed ot be embodied into a shark. The inaccurate part about manon is that in the movie he is portrayed as the supreme divinity… furthermore, he is portrayed in such a way that it makes one believe that he is what most typical witches worship. most witches believe in a polar deity system. A god and a goddess. In many cases, witches tend more towards the goddess aspect. But equilibrium is acheived through both. The calling of the quarters is more or less accurate… A few expressions: Blessed be, "As above, so below", "In perfect love and perfect trust etc… The movie has many accurately depicted elements, the problem is that it is blended in with all this mythical crap. No, we don’t change our hair color in a snap… what they call in the movie a "Glamour", it’s nothing but BS. Flying through the air like superman is also BS. Some people have the ability to levitate by some mysterious means. BUt i have never personalyl seen anyone actually consciously fly across a room or the sky on their own power. Mostly cuz levitating people are usualy in a trance when floating. But in itself, levitation is not part of any magickal system that i know of. And i do not see the point anyway :) . The way the love-spell’s effects are portrayed including the consequences, is depicted in a very fair manner. The threefold-law is also mentionned and more or less explained. The scene where The girl almost gets raped by "chris", the magickally charmed boyfriend, is a good representation of the many ways that the threefold-law works. In short, many good things in the movie… too much hollywood bullshit to crush it under it’s weight. magickal working requires a mature, patient, thoroughly examined approach. It also requires a good reason. Of course, you are not bound by those "requirements", nothing keep syou from doing whatever pleases you… but keep in mind that anything you do, comes back at you in one way or another. It’s not just threefold-law stuff, this is a natural law in the universe, it’s as sicentific as 2+2=4. Action equates with reaction. Whatever goes around comes around. You reap what you sowe. Bottom line is "An it harm none, do as thou wilt". Anyway, the answer is no! you can’t do that hair/eye color changing thing :) DravenX PS: It never hurts to try though :)

Good for you. There are details of invisibility as written by the holy people of the mountainous regions of China and Japan. The ruling class often persecuted them and they were forced to develope a form of Martial Mysticism. Some of these families became so good at Martial Mysticism that they hired themselves out as assassins. The art of invisibilty was researched for this very reason and some of the methods are very effective. Have you ever noticed that if you look directly at someone while playing hide and seek that it is very easy to find you? For this reason, the military trains covert soldiers to look using their peripheral vision. The added benefits are that these special forces can detect motions easier because of the way human vision is designed and thus be alerted to enemy activity. Here is the URL http://www.sphere.ad.jp/ninja/eng/e-index.html This is a traditional House with a very similar philosophy to ours. That is, magick is to be taken seriously and studied like a science. One must separate fantasy from what works, what is effective. One must not dismiss anything because it isn’t directly associated with magick. For example, pop-psychology, the art of bullshitting. When will the hurting end! At present those of us who can do magic cannot alter ourselfs in such a radical way as in that movie. We can do things such as hightening senses and some of us can do other things such as seeing the future – past or spirits. This is not the same though as shapeshifting like that. It hasn’t ever even really been in our mythology, not to the extent of what they did in that movie. ME

Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve not been around for a while, but Life has a way of sneaking up on you. I’ve been pretty busy what with studies — both pagan and scholastic — and people in and out of my life. But enough yammering. I’m posting a plug for my new webpage http://members.tripod.com/~Giacomazzo It’s perpetually under construction, so I apologize for that. I’d appreciate feedback of what I have so far, though. Also, if you would like to link your page(either pagan or otherwise) to mine, email me about it and I’ll see what I can do! Also email me if you have a particular graphic in mind, else I’ll give you one of my own. But a word of warning — though I think this is unneccessary —  if your page contains pornography, animal or human sacrifice, misanthropy of any form, "teeny-bopper" witchcraft(i.e., if all you know about invoking the Spirit is what you see on "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" or something), or is related to/endorsed by/centered around the Roman Catholic Church, how we’re heathens and all going to hell, or how great the Religious Reich art, you can forget about putting a link to my site. And I’ll be checking it! Anyway, I’ll be back to chat soon. In the meantime, may the dust bunnies get killed on the way to your hard drive. Blessed Be Bernadette
