Can a non-Catholic pray the Rosary?

Question:

Somehow, somewhere, I also saw a Rosary for another Faith once, the Episcopalians, Presbyterians or someone. Secondly, though I rarely pray them, a famous Catholic author, kicked out of Nazi Germany in the early 1930s, was Italian Monsignor, Romano Guardini. In his book, "The Rosary of Our Lady", the two last mysteries of the Rosary have given alternatives, The Fourth Glorious Mystery being "The Second coming of Christ", citing Scripture Matt. 25:3`-32, Rom. 8:15, 21 and others. The Fifth Glorious Mystery being "The Kingdom of God" citing Rev. 21:1,5,; 27: 3-4,; 12:1, Matt. 16:18-19; Rom: 8:21, Acts 1:7 – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -except he replaces the last two mysteries (the Assumption and the Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven) with two scenes from Revelation: the Woman in the Heavens and the descent of the Heavenly Jerusalem. The practice is common among Anglicans, especially among Anglo- Catholics.  Many ECUSA churches that are openly identified as Anglo- Catholic (the liberals hate us, BTW, because we aren’t inclined to budge on matters of doctrine, etc.) schedule prayers sessions between masses or later in the day for the rosary. Thanks for the answers, everyone.  I’m Catho;ic but my wife isn’t and she wanted to know if she could pray the rosary, too.

Absolutely, yes.  There is certainly no Catholic rule against it.  The Blessed Mother at Fatima told us that she gives the rosary to everyone.  You don’t have to be officially Roman Catholic.  I read of one bishop who is up for beatification, I think (I can’t remeber his name), who used to give rosaries to Protestants and Jews.  It has been instrumental in many conversions.

Cite: 15 Promises of Mary to "CHRISTIANS" who say the Rosary: The total story I do not know, but this was told to Saint Dominic, in probably the eleventh or twelfth century. Of course, back then, one would reason other "Christian" religions did not exist. and, though pricey at times, note, "amazon.com" always has Rosaries under auction, I guarantee you, that they did have an "Episcopalian" (or other Faith) Rosary once for sale. The picture shown was just for a 10 beaded Rosary, but maybe it was for the same as these decade Rosaries which some Catholics use:

Who made you the Pope, Election? Anyone can pray it if they so desire.

Many Protestant denominations would not allow their members to pray the Rosary. Such people should either make a clean break with their church or adhere to its doctrines. It is unlikely that Our Lady would approve of a prayer which consists of a betrayal of one’s friends, even if they are in error. * Sent from AltaVista http://www.altavista.com Where you can also find related Web Pages, Images, Audios, Videos, News, and Shopping.  Smart is Beautiful

I was asked this question the other day and I’m not sure what the correct answer is.  Can a non-Catholic benifit from praying the Rosary?  I already know that they can benifit from wearing the miraculous Medal.

Response:

When the Rosary is said with meditation, the life of Christ and of His mother lead to the understanding of God’s love for us by taking in our humanity and rising again to bring us into His glory.  Mary wants us to have that understanding so that each of us becomes a sharer of Jesus’ redemptive act.
