Question:
For Catholic who believe in the Ressurection of the Body, hell has to be more than a state of mind; because bodies have to be in space. Christ tells us Hell is a place. I believe St. Augustine said "There is a hell, and if you live a life of sin, it’s for you" I might have the wrong saint. Also St. Thomas Aquinas said: "The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis, maintain their neutrality." Of course, hell exists whether one believes in it or not. Just because someone does not believe in it, doesn’t make it go away. That is why as Catholics we pray daily for the conversion of poor sinners.
As long as prayer is all you do and do not go and try to convert people I do not give a rat’s ass about it. Muslims in fact have a real grudge caused by missionaries going into Muslim lands. They get pissed and I do not blame them for that. In fact I think that every time any missionary is in danger for having gone where he isn’t invited or where he is rejected. That missionary should have to pay all the expenses incured by the tax payers exactly like someone doing something stupid in the wilderness paying for the tax payers cost to save him. By the way there is no God. There probably never was a Jeeesus. No angels, no paradise and no hell. So you can take your preaching and stick it up your ass!

Instead of primitive guys with forks, tar and brimstone, in Judaism hell is a state of mind. Where the erred mind is tortured by sensing something akin to highly amplified feeling of shame. There is no hell in Judaism and punishment for sinners is either minimal or non-existent. So if you are planning a life of crime and/or debauchery, Judaism is very appealing. Its handy for a religion to have a carrot (eternal happyness) and a stick (eternal torture).. it works, unfortunately. No doubt your nuns suffered because of this too. Just look at the faces of this type of Christians during their professions.. they look as if the devil is already haunting them.. begging the Lord to save them. What a party! Amen

My dear old mama used to say that to me, however hell on earth is finite, hell after death in the Christian concept is for eternity. Or it used to be.
