Question:
- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Here’s something I’ve never thought of before, but I’m sure many of you out there have: Jesus died for our sins, and made it possible for people to go to Heaven, right? So if that’s true, did anyone that died BEFORE Jesus go to Heaven? Like Moses, Elijah, Noah, Adam, Eve, etc.??? I assume that they didn’t just cease to exist, because the disciples saw Jesus conversing with Moses & (someone else; Elijah???), and erected three booths on the spot to honor them or whatever. Maybe they were ‘on hold’??? I recall something about the souls of all the saints and other ‘righteous people’ being lifted up to Heaven with Jesus at the time that he died… Elijah is the only one in the bible directly stated that was taken into heaven (look at the end of his book). Many arguments have taken place about Moses. Although the bible does not state that he went into heaven, he was with Elijah at the Transfiguration. Finally, again not stated explicitly, Abraham is denoted in one of Jesus’ parables as being in heaven with Lazarus (not the one raised from the dead). Enoch "walked with God, and was no more, for God took him." That sounds like assumption to me, and noncanonical texts confirm this. Thank you, had forgotten about him.
Your welcome

Peter, sweetie, you can jam "Sheol" into a search engine as well as I can… so go for it, darlin’… take the plunge, do your own research… You’ll learn so much when you do your own homework, instead of just looking over at mine… God Bless

Could you kindly supply scriptural citation on Sheol. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – The dead before the Resurrection went to what the Jews called Sheol, a place that Job described as a place "to sleep with counselors and kings" – and there they waited until Jesus came for them. The Apostles Creed states that "He descended into hell" – that’s what it means, Sheol, the "underworld", the place of Limbo, where the souls waited for Jesus to throw open the gates of Heaven — God bless!
